Brian Branigan

Bio

Born in New York, NY 1958, Brian Branigan has worked in photography in one form or another for over twenty-five years. His twenty years in the film industry as a lighting technician, grip and camera crane operator, were combined with short stints of directing projects in film and video, one of which became part of the opening segment for the 1994 Academy Awards show.

In 1997 Brian partnered in a multimedia lounge in SoHo, NY, that would eventually offer non-linear editing workshops on weekends. In the evenings, dv enthusiasts would have a place to screen their work and celebrate afterward. This was the beginning of computer based dv filmmaking. After four plus years, and selling the business in 2002, Brian continued with digital video, first with shootdv.com, and later, consulting with Hudson Design Consultants; a print, web, and streaming media design company.

Brian currently a partner at Streamline Media, works freelance and consults with various clients for streaming media and Flash presentations. His photography (brianbranigan.com) reveals a beauty in the otherwise ordinary and shows an appreciation for timelessness. His video work combined with the internet allows him further his creativity with multimedia projects. Most recently, Brian expanded his services from New York City to include Upstate, NY and ia a regular contributor to the very popular arts and culture magazine, Chronogram.
